Commercially produced INCOLOY® alloy 945 was annealed and heat-treated in the temperature range of 650°C to 982°C for the times of 15 minutes to 100 hours. Heat-treated specimens were tested for hardness, optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) analysis of bulk and electrolytically extracted residue, x-ray diffraction (XRD) of the residue and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to develop understanding for phase stability.
